A day in the life of The Meserani Project
Saturday 14 March was a typical day for the project and its helpers.
First off was a visit from Jonathan Lee – one of our ‘Meserani Helpers’ – to start putting together the stationery requirements for those students who we hope will be starting their A’ Level studies in July this year.
Jonathan also helped with labelling envelopes for our 157 sponsored pupils which will be used to deliver the letters from their sponsors when we visit Meserani in June.
A consignment of 383 brand-new t-shirts, generously donated to us arrived last night, and were sorted into sizes ready for packing. A big thank you to Peter Ford for arranging this.
Another 20 large cardboard boxes were collected from former Acklam Grange School pupil Ellie Steel – thank you to her parents for continuing to get hold of these boxes for us – they will be used to pack the medical supplies that are being brought down from Edinburgh on 10 April, and will be taken out to Meserani in July.
Another suitcase packed with resources waits to be collected by the parent of one of the Acklam Grange School pupils going on the East Africa Trip in July. This particular suitcase contains sports clothing, personal clothing and school shoes.
Two more suitcases are in the process of being packed with exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets and clothing.
