Neeko’s father has more than one wife, he keeps animals, and does not really care for his children. She has two brothers and one sister, and they live in a traditional Maasai home. Her favourite subjects are Mathematics, Science and Geography. She was placed first in her examinations at Meserani Chini Primary School in early 2014. She would like to be a pilot one day.
Neeko started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2015. In hr first school examinations in November 2015 she gained a Distinction (the highest level of pass). She is being sponsored by Mary Turner, a former member of staff at Acklam Grange School. Since retiring in 2004 Mary has lived in London and now York, where she is involved in looking after her baby granddaughter and continues to enjoy singing – this time with a York barbershop chorus.
