Thomas Francis completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2024, and he was supported through secondary school, A’ Levels and his degree course by his sponsor Melanie Fordham. After completing his degree, he ambitiously applied to the African Union for a two-year Intra-Africa – Network for Zero-Defect and Zero-Waste Digital Manufacturing for Electric Vehicles Components (NeDMEV) scholarship to do a Master’s Degree at Botswana International University of Science and Technology. His application and presentations were so impressive that he was awarded the scholarship, and started in November 2024.
In a message to the Chairman of The Meserani Project, Thomas said, ” I remember the first day I met the Meserani Project. It is a bit hard to explain how excited I am but your efforts in our society count a lot.
I will never forget this sponsorship, my family and I are really grateful for you and your team. Your hardworking and good hearts changed the life and mindsets of many, even the ones who are not the part of the project. Teachers are employed at Meserani Sec. School, cooks, the Meserani alumni work in different sectors to help the entire society, and the country in general to mention a few.
To be honest The Meserani Project has made me and others who we are today. We are behind your efforts and supports for the upcoming, and we will be ready to support as well when necessary.
I hope you and my sponsor Melanie heard that I am doing my masters in Botswana for masters degree in industrial and manufacturing engineering under an African Union scholarship. My progress is really good and by God’s grace, I will graduate my masters on 2027 and go for further studies or come and apply my skills in my country.
I’m so lucky to pass this information to you and the group for their efforts and support have made me this man. Once I come back home I will visit the school and inspire the guys to achieve the best in their studies.”
Well done Thomas, and a big thank you to his sponsor Melanie.
