A reminder that we are putting on a Maasai Culture Display at the infamous Appleton Wiske Scarecrow Festival this weekend (7 & 8 July). Our collage includes a Maasai warrior, a Maasai Herdsman, two Maasai ladies and four Maasai children. They are dressed in traditional Maasai clothing, jewellery and adornments, all brought over from Tanzania, with some of them being gifts from Maasai families and individuals that have been supported by The Meserani Project.
It would be lovely to see you at the Festival, and please feel free to come and see our display collage – it is on Hornby Road – look out for the ‘Meserani’ house sign on the roadside. The Festival runs from 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on both days, and apart from the Scarecrow themed displays, there are numerous family attractions such as a BBQ, Scarecrow Doll Making for children, Afternoon Tea, Plant Stall, Ice Creams & Candy Floss – and so on…….. Proceeds go to the Village Scouts & Guides, and the Village Church Organ Fund.
Some sneak previews below – just to whet your appetite!
