In the past we have asked our supporters for unwanted clothing, shoes and handbags, which we were able to exchange for cash through a ‘Cash For Clothes’ outlet, with the proceeds going to The Meserani Project. Unfortunately the ‘Cash For Clothes’ link is not available any more, so we are unable to accept any further clothing, shoes or handbags. However, we have a ‘wish list’ for resources and equipment that we need for The Meserani Project, that we can take over with us:
- Unwanted laptops (second-hand laptops are like gold dust to the schools that we support in Tanzania).
- Unwanted mobile telephones – unlocked, (we are looking at providing our Further Education students with a basic mobile telephone, we will buy them a Tanzanian SIM card and some airtime, and we then we have a way of keeping in touch with those students who are studying at Further Education establishments many miles from Meserani).
- Sunglasses – with high levels of protection against ultraviolet light, (many of the adults and children we come across at Meserani have eye problems as a result of the intense sunlight.)
