Agness Meloo

Agness is from the Kisongo region. Her father is blind and her mother is unemployed and has to look after her husband.

Agness started Einoti Secondary School in January 2010, and was sponsored by Lizzie Hearn, an optician from Stockton. She completed her four years of secondary education in November 2013. On 7 October 2014 she sat her entrance examination and interview for a pace at Arusha Vocational Training Centre, and in January 2015 she was informed that she had been successful in her application. Her residential course began on 12 January 2015.

She is being sponsored through her vocational training by Julie Hatton (whose niece was a Head Girl at Acklam Grange School).

In August 2017 Agness bought a sewing machine so that she could set up her own business in Kisongo – this machine was paid for by her sponsor, Julie Hatton.
