Jenipher Joshuwa
Jenipher’s father died in 2013. She lives with her mother, and there is no family income. She has two brothers, one started at Einoti School in 2013 – the father paid for him before he died, but at the moment there is no money to continue paying his fees. Jenipher was placed fourth in her school examinations at Kisongo Primary School in early 2014. She would like to be a secondary teacher one day, and teach English and Swahili.
Jenipher started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2015. She is being sponsored by Claire Lancefield, a former Acklam Grange School Head Girl, who attended Acklam Grange between 2001 and 2006. Claire first visited Kenya and Tanzania with Acklam Grange in 2007. She loved the experience so much that in 2009, she went back to Tanzania on her Gap Year to teach English in a Primary School in Arusha. Claire then completed her Law Degree at the University of Sheffield and is now training to be a solicitor in Nottingham. Claire also went back to Kenya and Tanzania for a third time (!) on the 2014 Acklam Grange Trip.
