Mohamedi Juma
He lives with his mother, who is separated from his father. His young sister is disabled, and can not speak. His mother sells maize at the Meserani market for income. He likes football, and follows Chelsea. He was placed ninth in his examinations at Lesiraa Primary School in early 2014, and performed particularly well in the national examinations in November 2014. He would like to be a teacher one day.
Mohamedi started his secondary education at Moita Boys’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2015. He is being sponsored by Rachel Morton, a mother of two boys aged twenty-three and ten. She is English, but lives in Spain near the beach with her family. She is the cousin of a former Head Girl at Acklam Grange School.
Mohamedi achieved a Division Three result in his final examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in History, Kiswahili and Literature at Berega Mpwapwa School, Dodoma. He started his course in July 2019. Rachel Morton is continuing to sponsor Mohamedi through his two years of A’ Level studies.
Mohamedi achieved a Division II Point 12 result in his A’ Level examinations, and was selected to study a BA in Oriental Language (Chinese) and International Affairs, at Dodoma University, starting in October 2021. Mohamedi is being sponsored throughout his three years at university by one of the Trustees of The Meserani Project.
