Sophie Merinyo

Her parents are local farmers, and their only income is from selling some of their crops at the local market. She has one brother and three sisters – she is the first born in the family. Her favourite subject is book keeping. She would like to be a secondary school teacher one day.

Sophie was sponsored to complete her secondary education at Einoti Secondary School by Demi Womack, a former Deputy Head Girl at Acklam Grange School, and her parents.

Sophie performed particularly well in her national secondary school examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Mkuu School, Rombo, Kilimanjaro. She was sponsored through her two years of A’ Level studies by Chris Graham.
