Soroptimists-Feb 15-BSoroptimists-Feb 15-EThe Stockton branch of Soroptimists International held a special meeting last night in the Conference Centre at Stockton Library, at which five representatives from The Meserani Project gave a presentation about the current work of the project. At the end of the meeting, the branch president, Anne Wynn, handed over a donation of £2,085 to the project treasurer, Diane Swan.

The donation came from a number of fundraising events that had been organised by the Soroptimists, private donations, and a raffle and sale at the event tonight.

Soroptimists-Feb 15-DSoroptimists-Feb 15-AThe project chairman, Peter Swan, gave a presentation to the group, and then two former Acklam Grange pupils, Chloe Winter and Stephanie Gibson, talked about their own involvement in the project. Chloe and Stephanie have both visited Meserani themselves, and are now both sponsoring a young person through their education in Tanzania, (Chloe sponsors a student who is studying at Arusha Vocational Training Centre, and Stephanie sponsors a pupil who is in her second year at secondary school).

Soroptimists-Feb 15-CSoroptimists-Feb 15-FThe Stockton branch of Soroptimists International have supported The Meserani Project for several years now, and this year they chose the project as their primary charity. Currently, ten girls are being sponsored through secondary school by individual members of the Stockton branch. We are indebted to the support of the group, and of their individual members – thank you ladies, your involvement and support is changing the lives of so many girls in Tanzania who desperately need your help.
