Faraja Elias

Faraja Elias-Aug 15-AFaraja attended Kisongo Primary School.

Her parents are both alive, and her father sells his children off to get married – Faraja will probably be the same if she cannot go to secondary school. She lives with her sister and her husband at the other side of Arusha – they are from the Maasai tribe. Her sister is a housewife, and will try to stop Faraja being married off early. Faraja would like to be a doctor one day. She was placed first in her primary school examinations in 2015.

Faraja started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2016. She was sponsored by Kelly Rose. Kelly is a secondary school teacher, and nutritionalist. Her husband Gary is a production worker in an engineering company.They have two children – Abigail and Ava.

Faraja achieved a Division Two result in her final examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in History, Geography and Literature at Ndono School, Tabora. She started her course in July 2020. She is being sponsored through her two years of A’ Level studies by Kelly.

In November 2022 Faraja started a three year degree course in Public Administration in Local Government at Mzumbe University, and Kelly is joint sponsoring Faraja through this course, along with another joint sponsor, Nick Whaley.
