Lais Migaru Moikan
Lais lives with mother only, as his father is not alive. He has two brothers and three sisters. Lais would like to go to secondary school, but nobody in his family has done so yet.
Lais started Moita Boys’ Secondary School in January 2014, and was placed 15th. out of 109 pupils in his year group in his first school examinations. In the National Form Two Examinations 2015 he gained a Distinction (the highest level of pass). He is being sponsored by Hartburn Primary School, Stockton on Tees.
:ais sat his national secondary examinations in November 2017, and performed extremely well. As a result he was selected to study A’ Levels in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at Soya School, Dodoma, and he started his course in July 2018. Lais is being sponsored through his two years of A’ Level studies by the Payne family (David, Kate, Ellie and Max) from Devon, who wanted to sponsor a pupil to give them the best possible start in life. David visited the Meserani Project in Tanzania last year and wanted to continue to help out and support the project, as well as making a cause to return one day with his family.
In November 2020 Lais was selected to study a BEd degree course in Science at Dodoma University. The Payne family are continuing to sponsor Lais throughout his three years at university.
