Nekiteto Mungaya
There are ten children in Nekiteto’s family, eight girls and two boys. All of her sisters have been married off at the age of sixteen. Her father has passed away, and he had two wives. Nekiteto now lives with her uncle, not her mother. She was placed first in her school examinations in early 2014. She would like to be a nurse one day.
Nekiteto started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2015. In her first school examinations in November 2015 she gained a Distinction (the highest level of pass). She is being sponsored by Natalie Hulse.
Nekiteto achieved a Division Two result in her final examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in History, Kiswahili and Literature at Masasi High School, Mtwara. She started her course in July 2019. Nekiteto is being sponsored throughout her two years of A’ Level studies by Julie Cook and Natalie Hulse.
Nekiteto achieved a Division I Point 9 result in her A’ Level examinations, and was selected to study a Bachelor of Tourism & Cultural Heritage degree at Dodoma University, starting in October 2021. Nekiteto is being sponsored throughout her three years at university by one of the Trustees of The Meserani Project.
Nekiteto graduated in November 2024, and in order to assist her with her employment potential, The Meserani Project will be paying for her to do a driving course and assessment in January 2025.
