Evaline Elias
Evaline attended Meserani Juu Primary School. She never knew her father, and lives with her mother and brother. Friends have allowed the family to live in a room rent free. Her mother washes dishes for a living.
Evaline started Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2011. She is very bright, and has achieved very good results in her examinations so far. She was sponsored throughout her secondary education by Miss Janet McQuillen, a former member of staff at Acklam Grange School.
Evaline completed her secondary education in November 2014, and achieved the necessary pass marks to go on to study A’ Levels. She started her A’ Level studies at Lufilyo Secondary School, Tukuyu, Mbeya, in July 2015, (758 Km. from Meserani). She studied History, Geography and English Language. In her first six-month examination she achieved a Credit.
Evaline was sponsored through her two years of A’ Level studies by three people:
Liz Alderton, who met Evaline in August 2014 whilst on the Acklam Grange School Adults Trip to Meserani.
Debbie Nicholson, a member of staff at Acklam Grange School.
Jenny Singh, a former pupil at Acklam Grange School.
In October 2017 Evaline was selected by the government to study a BA degree in Cultural Heritage and Tourism at the University of Dodoma. Her joint sponsors for her three years at university are Nick Pentney, whose children were educated at Acklam Grange School, and Nikola & Paul Flint, members of staff at Acklam Grange School.
