Neema Mengoru

She lives with her parents, the father has no job so the mother cuts grass for a living. She is very bright, but her father does not want her to be in school.

Neema started Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2012. She was placed 20th. in her year group in her first school examinations. In her Mock National Examinations for Form Four she achieved a Merit, (the second highest level of pass). She was sponsored throughout her secondary education by Adella Prest, a former pupil at Acklam Grange School.

Neema completed her secondary education in November 2015, and achieved a Division Three pass in the National Examinations. As a result, she was selected to study History, Geography and Economics at A’ Level at Lukole Secondary School, Ngara, Kagera, (near to Lake Victoria, and close to the Uganda border). She began her A’ Level studies in July 2016, and was sponsored by the Stockton on Tees branch of Soroptimists International.

In October 2018 Neema was selected to study a Bachelor of Economic Development Degree at Mwalimu Nyerere University, Dar Es Salaam. She is being sponsored throughout her three years at university by the Stockton on Tees branch of Soroptimists International.
