Upendo Nooy

Upendo attended Meserani Juu Primary School. She comes from a family of eight children, and she is the fourth born. Her father has alcohol problems. Her mother walks around different bomas every morning to help people to sell milk so that her children can survive. After completing her time at Meserani Juu Primary School, she was selected by the government to join Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School. She would like to be a nurse one day. Her father was trying to sell her off for marriage, and then her mother came with her to our representatives in Tanzania to ask for help.

Upendo started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2021. She is being sponsored by Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club.
