In August 2016 (his final year) he was placed third in his school examinations. His father has two wives and seven children, Daniel is the first born. Nobody in the family has employment, apart from his father who gets employment escorting cattle to the market – involving long distances. His father does not drink – the family are Roman Catholic Christians. The family are from the Maasai tribe, but they have no livestock at all. His favourite subjects are Mathematics, English and Science. He enjoys football, and is the vice-captain of the school team. He would like to be a doctor one day.

Daniel started his secondary education at Moita Boys’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2017. He is being sponsored by Lauren Dalton who is currently in her first year of A-Levels studying French, History, Maths and English Literature. She also works part-time and has a season ticket at the Riverside Stadium to watch Middlesbrough. Her other interests are going to concerts to watch her favourite bands and reading.

Daniel was selected to study A’ Levels in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, at Miono School, Pwani, and he started his studies in June 2021. He is being sponsored throughout his two years of A’ Level studies by Claire Dalton, Laura’s mother.
