Baraki Lenina Medidingi
Bariki attended Lesiraa Primary School.
His father is in his eighties and has two wives and fourteen children. He is not able to do anything as regards work or income generation. Bariki’s mother tries to earn money by cutting and selling grass. One of his brothers is at secondary school because his mother borrowed some money from the village. When he finishes primary school he will not be able to go to secondary school and will have to look after other people’s livestock. He likes Mathematics, Geography and Science, and would like to be a doctor one day. He was placed second in his primary school examinations in 2015.
Bariki started his secondary education at Moita Boys’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2016. He was sponsored by Lisa Connor, Head of Performing Arts at Acklam Grange School, and her mother Pauline.
Baraki achieved a Division Two result in his final examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in History, Geography and Literature at Berege School. He started his course in July 2020. He is being sponsored through his two years of A’ Level studies by Lisa Connor, Creative Director at Priory Woods School, Middlesbrough.
