Damuni Lengas
Damuni attended Lesiraa Primary School.
His father has two wives, his mother is the second wife and has five children. His two older siblings had to stop their education because of a lack of funds. Both his parents are very supportive, but they live in extreme poverty – his mother cuts grass to make money. Damuni has to survive on one meal a day. His favourite subject is Mathematics. He would like to continue to secondary education, and be a teacher one day. He was placed third in his primary school examinations in 2015.
Damuni started his secondary education at Moita Boys’ Boarding School in January 2016. He was placed 10th. in his year group in school examinations in 2018, and gained a Division I pass. He was sponsored by Nicola Ferguson, a teacher at Acklam Grange School, and her husband Gary, Director of Sport at Yarm School.
Damuni achieved a Division Two result in his final examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in Chemistry, Biology and Geography at Mpwapwa School, Dodoma. He started his course in July 2020. He is being sponsored through his two years of A’ Level studies by Nicola and Gary.
