Janeth Joseph

Janeth attended Kisongo Primary School.

Her father died many years ago, and her mother looks after livestock and grows crops. Janeth lives with her uncle who has to pay for his own children’s education. One of Janeth’s sisters is at a secondary school, but Janeth does not know who is paying for this. Her favourite subjects are Mathematics, Science and Swahili, and she would like to be a banker one day. If she cannot go to secondary school, she will have to go back to live with her mother. She was placed sixth in her primary school examinations in 2015.

Janeth started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2016. She is being sponsored by Helen Camsell, a teacher at Hartburn Primary School, Stockton on Tees.
