Lominusi Saigarai

Lominusi attended Kisongo Primary School.

His father has two wives and fourteen children – eight of these are Lominusi’s mother’s. Lominusi is certain that he will not be able to go to secondary school because his father has no money to support his oldest children through further education. His favourite subjects are Swahili, Mathematics and Science, and he would like to be a teacher one day. He was placed eighth in his primary school examinations in 2015.

Lominusi started his secondary education at Moita Boys’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2016. He was sponsored by Liz and Paul Openshaw from Eaglescliffe, Stockton on Tees.

Lominusi achieved a Division Two result in his final examinations, and was selected to study A’ Levels in History, Geography and Literature at Kikaro School. He started his course in July 2020. He is being sponsored through his two years of A’ Level studies by Liz and Paul.

In November 2022 Lominusi started a three year degree course in Insurance & Risk Management at the University of Institute ot Finance, Mwanza, and once again Liz & Paul are sponsoring Lominusi through this course.
