Ninai Kanari Mkainei

There are five children in the family, and he lives with both parents who cut grass for a living. He has three brothers and two sisters. He was positioned first in his year group at the start of his final year at primary school.

Ninai started Moita Boys’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2014, and was placed 2nd. in his year group of 109 pupils in his first school examinations. In the National Form Two Examinations 2015 he gained a Distinction (the highest level of pass). He is being sponsored by Katie Yates from Barclays Bank, Stockton on Tees.

Ninai sat his national secondary examinations in November 2017, and performed extremely well. As a result he was selected to study A’ Levels in Economics, Geography & Mathematics at Karatu Boys’ School, Ngorongoro, and he started his course in July 2018. Katie Yates is continuing to sponsor Ninai through his two years of A’ Level studies.

In November 2020 Ninai was selected to study a BA degree course in Education at Mwenge University, Moshi. He is being jointly sponsored throughout his three years at university by Katie Yates, and Mike & Shirley Overy from Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club.
