Our most elderly sponsor – Hilda Renton – 91 years young – has stepped forward again to ensure that one of our students is able to continue their education.

Baraka Lotumieki-Dec 11Baraka Lotumieki-June 16-IBaraka Lotumieki has been sponsored through his four years of secondary education, and completed his national form four examinations in November last year. When the results were published earlier this year he achieved a Division III Pass – not quite good enough to get him a place at university, but we were delighted to hear last week that he has been offered a place at Borigaram Agricultural Technical College, at Mwasonga, Dar es Salaam. Hearing that we did not have a sponsor for Baraka, Hilda has offered to sponsor him through his three-year Diploma Course.

Hilda has already sponsored two pupils through their secondary education, and one pupil to re-sit her secondary school examinations. She is a widow from Eaglescliffe, Stockton on Tees, and raises money for The Meserani Project through knitting her infamous woollen ‘Meserani Slippers’.

Thank you once again Hilda!Hilda Renton
