Ruth Likindubulu

Ruth attended Lesiraa Primary School.

In August 2016 (her final year) she was placed eighth in her school examinations. Her father died in 2010 leaving seven children. Her mother buys and sells maize, and is struggling to pay her two eldest children to stay in secondary school. Ruth has to walk 2Km. every morning and evening to get to school, and when she gets home she has all the household chores to do, as well as collecting water for the family. Her favourite subjects are English, Mathematics and Science. She enjoys debating and politics. She would like to be a primary school teacher one day.

Ruth started her secondary education at Kipok Girls’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2017. She is being sponsored by Nichola Caisley, whose children went to Acklam Grange School.

Ruth was selected to study a three-year Diploma Course in Community Development, at Mara, and she started her studies in June 2021. Nichola is sponsoring Ruth throughout her Diploma Course.
