Zakayo Joseph

Zakayo attended Meserani Juu Primary School.

Zakayo was positioned ninth in his final year at primary school. There are six in his family – his father died in 2010 with heart problems, and his mother brings five children up on her own. She brews alcohol to sell in the Meserani village. The family live in a rented one-room house. Zakayo enjoys sport, particularly football, and his favourite subjects are Science, Mathematics and English. He would like to be a doctor one day.

Zakayo started his secondary education at Moita Boys’ Secondary Boarding School in January 2017. He is being sponsored by Matthew Dodgson, a former pupil at Acklam Grange School.

Zakayo was selected to study a three-year Diploma Course in Animal Health and Production, at Dodoma, and he started his studies in June 2021. Matthew, and his father Mick, are sponsoring Zakayo through his Diploma Course.
